Team blog GEM4ME №45

Good afternoon friends.

Today we want to talk to you about universal links. What is it and why is it needed?

Before even the advent of mobile applications, everything was simple: if you wanted to share a page on the Internet, you gave a link to it. Applications broke this scheme. Now, instead of a clear link to the site, you have to explain: put this application, go to exact section, press a couple more buttons, and so on, and so on... It's no wonder that few people want to do all this. People love simple things: they clicked once and got to the right place. This is how deep links work.

For example, you use Gem4me, read your favorite channels all the time, and one day you come across a post in one of them that may be of great interest to your friend. You know that your friend does not have Gem4me installed, but you also know that if you send him a link to a post, then your friend will automatically be prompted to download Gem4me, and after installation and authorization, he will go exactly to the desired post (and not somewhere else).

We implemented part of this mechanism before the New Year, but it did not work on all platforms. This year we are going to expand the functionality - we will enable users to generate links not only to posts in channels, but also to specific messages in chats, links to the products on our MarketSpace, and even to sticker sets. In addition, administrators can choose the name of the address for their channel themselves.

Some of the above functionality will appear in Gem4me in February. Stay connected to find out all the latest news first!

Always yours,

Gem4me team.
